Wednesday’s national forecast

Mostly sunny in the west of the North Island with some cloud about, the odd shower possible on the west coast about Auckland however more likely about Northland then clearing in the evening. Expect southwesterly breezes tending more southerly by evening. Cooling down at night in the Waikato and Central North Island. On the east coast expect cloudy skies and showers, winds will be breezy from the southwest.

Drizzle clears in Canterbury in the morning then from the Kaikoura Coast late afternoon or evening, sunny breaks may then show mainly in Canterbury with southerly winds easing during the day.

The West Coast will experience sunny weather with light winds, showers in parts of Buller and Tasman however ease late afternoon then clear at night.

Sunny areas will increase about Southland and Otago with northeast breezes, temperatures a little cool still.

Once again temperatures averaging 16 degrees can be expected north of Auckland and about the Bay of Plenty, high’s may reach 17 in some areas. Mid teen temperatures elsewhere however cooler about Wellington and on the east coast at around 12 to 13 degrees.

13 to 14 degree high’s on the West Coast, about Nelson and Marlborough in the South Island today. 9 to 10 degree high’s elsewhere.
