A north to northeasterly airflow lies over New Zealand today while a front sits just out to the west in the Tasman Sea. 

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Mostly cloudy. Rain or showers about Northland spreads southwards overnight. There may be a light drizzle patch during the day about the Bay Of Plenty. Breezy northeasterly winds, brisk to strong about Northland and Auckland.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny with increasing high cloud from morning, light east to northeasterly winds. Taranaki and the Central North Island to an extent experiences cloudier skies with drizzle possible about the Central North Island in the northeast, breezy northeasterly winds from morning.
Highs: 15-17
 
Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny however expect increasing high cloud especially afternoon onwards. North to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 17-18
 
Wellington
Sunny areas and increasing cloud, northerly winds.
High: 15
 
Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly sunny with high cloud increasing from morning, afternoon north to northwesterly breezes.
Highs: 15-16
 
Canterbury
Mostly sunny with some high cloud increasing during the day. Light winds from the northerly quarter.

West Coast
Some morning sun then becoming mostly cloudy in the afternoon, the odd shower from evening then some overnight rain. East to northeasterly winds.

Southland & Otago
Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, a few spits of rain move in overnight. Light north to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 11-12
