Wednesday’s national forecast

A humid north to northeasterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, hot in many eastern parts of the country. The West Coast of the South Island can expect some rain, cloudy areas for the west of the North Island with the chance of a drizzle patch or two for some.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Quite cloudy but some occasional sun is possible, East to Nor’East winds.
Highs: 20-22

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Cloudy with the odd light shower or drizzle patch during the day, some areas remaining mainly dry all day. Light west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 20-23

Eastern North Island

Mostly cloudy skies with any patchy showers in the morning clearing away, northeasterly winds.
Highs: 21-22

Wellington

Cloudy with the odd brief shower or drizzle patch possible during the day, northerly winds.
High: 18

Marlborough & Nelson

Areas of high cloud and some sun for Marlborough, breezy northwesterly winds. Nelson is mostly cloudy with the odd shower about and northerly winds.
Highs: 20-26

Canterbury

A mainly sunny day with north to northwesterly winds, chance of a late afternoon / evening isolated shower in the depths of South Canterbury otherwise mainly dry and hot.
High: 30

West Coast

Cloudy with spells of rain, chance of a heavy fall or two mainly about North Westland. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 17-18

Southland & Otago

Mostly sunny with light northerly quarter winds, chance of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening mainly inland.
Highs: 25-27
