A front moves over the country from the west tonight, most areas will see rain and regions exposed to the northeast like the Bay Of Plenty and Nelson could recieve heavy falls overnight.

Northland
Rain clears overnight as northerlies change westerly.
Lows tonight: 10

Auckland
Periods of rain, a few heavy falls possible. Northeasterlies.
Low tonight: 10

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island
Rain, heavy at times overnight especially about the Bay Of Plenty. Northeasterlies.
Low tonight: 7-11

Eastern North Island
Thick high cloud with northeasterlies, rain develops later in the night.
Lows tonight: 8-9

Western North Island
Cloudy with rain developing later this evening south of Taranaki, northeasterlies. Rain about Taranaki continues overnight, brisk north to northeast winds.
Low tonight: 8-10

Wellington
Cloudy this evening, chance of a shower later. Some rain more likely overnight. North to northeast winds.
Low tonight: 11

Nelson
Rain, heavy at times overnight. Northeasterlies.
Lows tonight: 8-9

Marlborough
Cloudy with north to northeasterly winds, rain develops later and may be heavy overnight.
Low tonight: 8

Canterbury
Thick high cloud with brisk northeasterlies near the coast, a few spots of rain later in the night.
Low tonight: 8

West Coast
Rain with northeasterlies, rain eases to showers overnight.
Lows tonight: 8-9

Coastal Otago
Cloudy skies with northeasterlies, a few showers later in the night.
Lows tonight: 7-8

Southland & Central Otago
Cloudy with some rain developing this evening then clearing around dawn tomorrow morning. East to northeast winds.
Lows tonight: 4-5
