Philip Duncan from WeatherWatch.co.nz teams up with nzherald.co.nz to bring you the latest on the incoming sub-tropical low.  There are actually two coming in the next 7 days, one originates from the sub-tropics, the second does not but very much is connected to the sub-tropics.  There will likely be rain warnings next week too.
