The dry spell rolls on and warm to very warm temperatures are set to continue on this week for most of the country as an anticyclone maintains its hold.

New South Wales will see boiseterous weather conditions today after Queensland was inundated with torrential rain, tornadoes and isolated hail over the weekend.
Former Cyclone Oswald was to blame for the dramatic weather conditions.

South Pacific
Cyclone Garry continued to lose strength over the weekend while nearing the Cook Islands.Near gale force winds were recorded.

Remarkably cold conditions gripped parts of the USA with minus 34 degrees being recorded over parts of the northeast.The cold is expected to ease a little this week.

Parts of England are still in an icy polar grip with daytime highs struggling to get above freezing in places. Ice and snow in places has frozen under clear skies making roads treacherous in places.
