VIDEO: Wet weekend for western NZ as low moves in, falls apart

NZ is on the outer edges of high pressure for a few more days allowing a low from Australia to move in and fall apart on Sunday and Monday.

This will bring a burst of rain and wind from the west before easing next week.

There’s also a tropical low near the Solomon Islands developing which may form into our third tropical cyclone of the season next week. Currently this poses no threat at all to NZ due to high pressure also to our north. But Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Queensland should be monitoring it – and NZers should also keep an eye on it just incase that high pressure belt to the north of NZ changes (not expected to at this stage).

*Programming Notes:– Our Australia-only 7 Day forecast is out today (And every Thursday)- We have NO VIDEO on Friday (Dec 1). We’ll see you again on Monday!
