You’d be forgiven for thinking it may be spring or autumn with the current weather pattern in some parts of the country but a change is coming this weekend.
Windy weather is affecting Auckland and other northern regions, making for annoying weather for campers. Further south and it’s rain on the West Coast and around Lakes District which may not be the best for campers – neither will the cold change coming this Thursday where highs in some places may only be in the low teens.
However this weekend we have a change – by Sunday things will be calming down and by Monday next week (which is Auckland Anniversary, so half of NZ’s population has the day off) a large high will be pushing in across both main islands.
Next week, at this stage, looks mostly calm, sunny and dry and should becoming hotter for some as the week goes on.
MAPS: Today (Tuesday Jan 22) compared to Next Tuesday (Jan 29)
ABOVE: Today – Windy westerlies in many places with a cold front moving northwards
BELOW: Next Tuesday – High pressure in control and while still a little breezy it should be calmer and drier for most.
