Tuesday’s national forecast – Settled with a high in control (+6 maps)

Mainly settled weather today as a large area of high pressure lies over the country.

The North Island is mostly sunny today although there may be some cloud at times Auckland northwards especially in the east. The east coast also has cloudy skies this morning but breaking to some sun Napier southwards this afternoon, a few showers or drizzle patches for Gisborne.

The South Island is mostly sunny but expect some high cloud, also areas of morning cloud in the east. Cloud about Fiordland may bring some drizzle.

Light winds or sea breezes in the west, east to northeast winds about the eastern South Island. East to southeasterly winds about the eastern North Island.
