Tuesday night’s national forecast

The airflow is yet again coming from the southwest tonight but the air associated with it isn’t as cold as it has been the past few days. Showers affect coastal Canterbury northwards into eastern parts of the North Island. Clear skies or atleast becoming clearer overnight for most western regions.

Clear spells with southwesterly winds, a few showers clearing by midnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 4-6


Mainly clear with a few clouds about, any remaining showers in the north clear this evening. Southwesterlies ease overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 5-6

Bay Of Plenty

Clear skies, southwesterlies ease this evening.
Tonight’s Lows: 3-4

Waikato & Central North Island

Mainly clear skies with southwesterly winds, easing overnight. About
southern parts of the Central North Island (south of Lake Taupo) expect cloudy
areas and the odd shower possible, mainly towards dawn tomorrow.
Tonight’s Lows: -1-1

Eastern North Island

Showers about the Wairarapa, further north expect clear spells with west to
southwest winds. Overnight showers may push more into Hawkes Bay and
Tonight’s Lows: 4-5


Mainly clear skies with south to southwesterly winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 2-4

Western North Island

Cloudy with occasional showers west of about Wanganui, westerly
Tonight’s Lows: 4-5


Mostly cloudy with the odd shower, especially in the east then pushing back
more into the Capital later this evening or overnight. Brisk to strong
Tonight’s Lows: 6-7


Mainly clear skies with southwesterly winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 1-2


Mainly clear skies with light winds about the Wairau Valley and northwards.
Southwesterlies on the coast with areas of cloud south of Clifford Bay and about
southern Marlborough, a few showers possible too.
Tonight’s Lows: -1-4


Mostly cloudy with cold southwesterlies, occasional showers mainly near the
coast and into parts of North Canterbury.
Tonight’s Lows: 5-6

West Coast

Clear skies, light winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 1-2

Coastal Otago

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower, easing overnight. Southwesterly
Tonight’s Low: 6

Central Otago

Cloudy areas with the odd shower possible, any of which clear overnight.
Light southwesterlies.
Tonight’s Lows: 1-2
