An anticyclone keeps conditions fairly calm about the North Island and upper South Island overnight, winds will be light although expect plenty of cloud. Rain moves onto southern parts of the West Coast overnight as a front draws near.

Central North Island, Waikato &
Bay Of Plenty

Fairly cloudy with light west to southwest breezes. Cloud may break up
overnight about the Bay Of Plenty however expect high cloud still.

Eastern North Island

Mainly clear skies with some high cloud developing this evening, sea
breezes ease.
Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Western North Island

Cloudy spells with west to northwest breezes.
Tonight’s Lows: 11-13


Clear spells and high cloud increasing this evening, northerly

Areas of cloud overnight, especially high cloud. Northerlies ease this
evening, light winds overnight may tend SW.

Fairly cloudy with easterlies near the coast easing this evening.

Central Otago

Plenty of high cloud, west to southwest winds tend northerly overnight. A
spot or two of rain possible in the wee small hours.

Fairly cloudy with southerlies tending northerly overnight, a few spots of
rain possible towards dawn tomorrow morning.
