Tropical Cyclone WATI – Update

Sunday NZDT/Saturday Cook Islands Time — We have the latest on Cyclone Wati as it remains a Category 2 Tropical Cyclone when we recorded this video early Saturday afternoon Cook Islands Time (Sunday afternoon NZDT). The storm is expected to make a direct hit on the island chain north east and east of Rarotonga – with Raro itself on the outer edges of the most intense part of the storm.

The good news is that Wati should move through quickly over the next couple of days – the bad news is that tracking does take it directly over a number of islands.

We have the latest info on wind, rain and tracking – please also keep up to date with all Cook Islands authorities and the Fiji Met Service. Our next update will be early on Sunday afternoon Cook Islands Time (Monday afternoon NZDT).
