Can everyone just please stop complaining about the temp being wrong when this article was published in 2013! You’re 8 years too late.

Hi I live in Blenheim and today was definitely hotter than 24. I have a few sensors they all read much higher than 24.

Outside in the shade 25.65
Lounge insulated 25.84
Entrance uninsulated 27.10
My Garage 30.30
Outside direct sun 38.65

They are not perfect, but they show it was hotter.
Maybe if you reference the location of the weather station you are getting your data from.

Thanks for keeping us informed

Why does One News say that Blenheim got to 29°c today yet you guys state Blenheim only got to 24°c. I live in Blenheim and believe me when I tell you it was way warmer than the 24°c you guys claim !

Hi Shaun
The 24 would’ve been from the nearest weather station in your area. The Commerce Commission is currently investigating MetService for anticompetitive behaviour and abuse of marketplace power by blocking WeatherWatch open access to weather stations owned and paid for by taxpayers. We are hoping to improve local readings further in the near future. If you think your local weather station is wrong consistently please give us the Station ID and we can remove it and replace with the next nearest one.
