Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny areas, some cloud increasing from afternoon especially about the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty. Northland has a mainly sunny day. Gentle westerly winds.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Becoming mostly cloudy in the morning, chance of a shower about Taranaki later in the evening / overnight. West to northwesterly winds.

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny with light winds, afternoon east to northeast winds for Hawkes Bay and Gisborne. Northwesterlies becoming breezy about the Wairarapa during the afternoon.

Wellington
Sunny areas and increasing cloud, northerly winds becoming strong by evening.
High: 20
 
Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, light winds in the morning then north to northwesterly winds build after midday. A few spots of rain overnight.

Canterbury
Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, light winds near the coast and building northwesterly winds inland. Breezy northwest winds may spread to the coast later in the evening. Overnight a southwest change (strong about Banks Peninsula) brings a few showers.

West Coast
Cloudy with west to northwest winds, the odd shower about but expect heavy rain for Fiordland. Rain pushes northwards later in the evening then winds change southwest overnight with rain easing to showers then clearing.

Southland & Otago
Plenty of high cloud, rain sits just near the coast of Southland or perhaps a tad offshore then pushes onshore during the evening as a southerly change moves in. Rain or showers move through Otago later in the evening / overnight. Some rain may affect far western parts of Southland during today with a chance of heavy falls.
