A ridge brings mainly settled weather to the South Island tonight although expect areas of cloud and the odd clearing shower for parts of Canterbury and Marlborough. For the North Island a southeasterly airflow continues, showers in the east, showers or rain out west clearing for most.

Clear spells with light winds tending southeasterly overnight, the odd shower possible.

breaks overnight. Southeasterlies.
