A ridge moves onto the South Island tonight bringing clearing conditions, frosts develop overnight for inland areas of the South Island, especially the lower half. Rain overnight for many North Island areas as a front moves through.

Cloudy with the odd shower or drizzle patch possible, mainly later this evening then turning to rain overnight with northwesterly winds.

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island

Cloudy with the odd shower, rain in the west spreading to most areas later
this evening or overnight with northwesterly winds. A change to southerlies
around dawn tomorrow.

Eastern North Island

High cloud with northwesterly winds, a change to southerlies this evening
about the Wairarapa brings showers then moving further north overnight.

Western North Island

Showers with northwesterly winds changing southerly later this evening,
showers clear overnight. Rain about Taranaki clears later this evening with a
southerly change.
Tonight’s Lows: 7-10


Cloudy periods with northerly winds, a change to cold southerlies later
this evening. Occasional showers.

Periods of cloud, light winds. A southerly change around midnight brings
increasing cloud and a few showers overnight.

Any remaining showers clear this evening, cold southwesterlies ease with
skies becoming clear overnight.

Cloudy periods with any remaining showers clearing this evening, skies
become clear overnight with strong southerlies dying out.

Cloudy periods with the odd brief shower possible at times, southwesterlies
tend westerly around midnight.
