Upper North Island

About Northland expect east to southeast winds with fairly cloudy skies, a few showers may brush eastern areas in the afternoon then clear in the evening. Auckland can expect cloudy spells with east to northeast winds, low risk of some early drizzle. Cloudy spells for most other areas with northerly winds, chance of some morning drizzle about the Bay Of Plenty. A few isolated showers may pop up during the afternoon about the Waikato and Central North Island otherwise remaining fairly dry.

Lower North Island

Cloudy spells in the west with westerly breezes, fairly cloudy about Wellington also with brisk northerlies. Sunny spells and some cloud on the east coast with northeasterly winds on the coast, a few isolated afternoon showers are possible about Hawkes Bay and Gisborne then clearing in the evening.

Upper South Island

Patchy rain or drizzle on the West Coast with northerly winds, mainly sunny with some high cloud in the east and north to northwest breezes. Mild temperatures for eastern regions.

Lower South Island

Northerlies on the West Coast south of Haast with drizzle turning to rain late afternoon. Sunny in the east and about Southland with increasing high cloud and northwesterly winds, a late afternoon westerly change develops about Southland bringing showers. Showers may move into parts of Otago later in the evening.
