Sunday’s national forecast (+6 Maps)

Winds are light across much of NZ today with a nor’west flow increasing through Cook Strait and the lower North Island across the day.

Showers will spread across western New Zealand south of about Taranaki but one or two may go further north. Patchy rain is likely to set in across the West Coast with 20 to 30mm likely around Westport and Greymouth.

Cloudy or partly cloudy weather in many regions today with the north and north east of the North Island the sunniest.

The South Island will be several degrees warmer than average today in some regions.
