High pressure smothers NZ today and will weaken a little on Sunday and Monday to allow a cooler southerly flow to head northwards, then expands back over the country again next week.
However, also next week, a new low pressure zone that will form east of Brisbane will move towards the upper North Island. It’s all about high pressure in the NZ area though – some weakness or movement away with that high pressure zone could see rain and wind move into northern NZ…likewise, of the high gets more powerful or drifts just a little closer back to NZ it could hold that subtropical low mostly offshore.
We show you the latest maps – and how next weekend might have another taste of Autumn with the next bigger cold front possible.
