Large dry skies are affecting much of NZ but a system exiting Australia today will affect our weather in the days ahead, bringing some areas of patchy rain and showers going into the weekend.
Before that arrives a shift in high pressure to our south will also pull in a shower and cooler airflow for some eastern parts of NZ going into Thursday and Friday.
This weekend showers not only form locally, some heavy on Saturday afternoon with possible thunderstorms in both main islands, but some wet weather leaves the Tasman Sea and moves into western parts of the country.
We track the rain, showers and large dry areas in today’s video.
