Saturday’s national forecast – High moves east

East to northeasterly winds over New Zealand today, moving around a large high to our east.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Cloudy spells, occasional showers western Bay Of Plenty up through to Northland, more so in the west, drier in the east. Northland sees rain later in the day, once again more so in the west. Breezy easterly winds, fresh at times from afternoon.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny, some high cloud. Light winds.
Highs: 15-19


Eastern North Island
Partly cloudy skies, north of Mahia Peninsula it’s cloudier with the odd shower, further south into Wairarapa sunny spells are longer, it may even be mostly sunny. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 18-19


Wellington
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, northerly winds.
Highs: 17-19


Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny, some cloud this evening for Nelson. North to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 17-19


Canterbury
Sunny, light north to northwesterly winds inland. Winds tend onshore near the coast but are light.
Highs: 16-18


West Coast
Partly cloudy skies, Fiordland has showers or some rain, elsewhere may see showers later in the day. North to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 16-18


Southland & Otago
Sunny, a touch of high cloud possible. Light northerly winds. Coastal Otago may see some early clearing cloud then mainly sunny, light winds tend onshore in the afternoon.
