Auckland & Northland
Showers with strong southwesterly winds, over gale force at times. Showers could be heavy with a risk of hail then easing later in the evening and clearing at night.
Highs: 16-17

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island

Showers, a few may be heavy around midday then easing afternoon and clearing in the evening. Sunny spells gradually develop during the day, especially from afternoon. Winds strong and gusty from the west, strongest winds after midday.
Highs: 13-17

Eastern North Island

Brisk west to southwest winds with the odd shower, easing during the afternoon and clearing in the evening. Sunny spells sneak through at times and gradually get longer during the day.
Highs: 16-17

Western North Island
Showers in the morning, possibly heavy with a risk of hail then easing in the afternoon. Westerly winds becoming strong after midday then easing later in the evening with showers clearing.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington
Cloudy spells with winds tending northerly, the odd shower possible mainly in the evening with a southerly change.
High: 15

Nelson

Mainly sunny with breezy west to southwest winds, winds may even tend northerly in the afternoon for a time. A brief isolated shower is possible in the evening otherwise a mostly dry day can be expected.
High: 16

Marlborough

Sunny with some cloud, south to southwest breezes. Late afternoon or evening a few isolated showers may move through otherwise expect a mostly dry day. Southwesterlies die out around midnight.

Canterbury
Sunny with some cloud, light winds. In the afternoon winds tend south to southwesterly with a few isolated showers develop especially along the foothills. Showers could contain some small hail then clearing later in the evening with southwesterlies dying out.
High: 14

West Coast
Mostly cloudy, morning showers ease then in the afternoon showers reinvigorate as a front moves in from the west. West to southwest breezes. Showers clear in the evening.
High: 13

Coastal Otago

Sunny areas with westerly winds, winds change more southwest early afternoon bringing showers which clear in the evening. Southwesterlies die out at night.
High: 13

Southland & Central Otago
Thick high cloud in the morning with northwesterly winds, a change to brisk westerlies around midday brings showers which clear in the evening. Skies clearing up after that with westerlies easing.
High: 12-13
