Saturday’s national forecast

A potent westerly flow will keep our weather pretty unsettled for the first part of today.  Most of the North Island could see weather improve this afternoon.  But the western South Island will likely remain wet into this evening.

Upper North Island-

Cloudy skies with a few showers until about midday.  Showers end this afternoon with a few sunny breaks developing.

Highs 18-22

Lower North Island-

Cloudy with showers ending this morning.  A few sunny breaks developing by midday.  Showers may develop about Wellington and the Kapiti Coast toward sunset.

Highs 18-22

Upper South Island-

Cloudy with showers in the west.  Cloudy skies start off the day in the east with thinning clouds expected during the afternoon.

Highs 12-16 in the west, 18-22 in the east

Lower South Island-

Cloudy skies with showers during the morning.  Thinning clouds expected in the east and south during the afternoon with showers ending.  Clouds and showers continue into the evening in the west.
