A front clears the North Island this morning off to the northeast while the rest of the country settles in under an anticyclone.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Any early rain clears then mostly sunny with west to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 18-22

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Any early showers clear then expect sunny spells, southeasterly winds for most however tending southwest about coastal Taranaki.
Highs: 17-18

Eastern North Island
Morning rain clears for Gisborne, mostly cloudy otherwise with the odd shower or drizzle patch. Cool southerlies.
Highs: 16-17

Wellington
Morning cloud / showers breaks to sunny spells, southeasterly winds.
High: 17-18

Marlborough & Nelson
Cloudy areas and occasional sun, may be an isolated shower or two about. Light winds tend east to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 13-15

Canterbury
Sunny spells with afternoon east to northeasterly winds. May be a late afternoon / evening isolated shower for inland areas otherwise mainly dry.
Highs: 11-13

West Coast
A mix of sun and cloud, risk of a shower otherwise mainly dry. Light winds.
Highs: 14-17

Southland & Otago
Sunny spells with light winds, risk of a late afternoon / evening isolated shower for inland areas otherwise mainly dry.
Highs: 13-16
