An anticyclone in the Tasman Sea spreads a ridge onto New Zealand today bringing settled weather, especially about the South Island compared to yesterday. Temperatures will be a bit cooler however after a cold start this morning for some.

evening.

Sunny spells with breezy southwesterly winds, easing in the evening.
Highs: 21-22

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny with southwesterly breezes, dying out in the evening.
Highs: 21-23

Eastern North Island

Any early showers clear otherwise expect mostly sunny weather with cool
southwesterlies, dying out in the evening.
Highs: 18-20

Western North Island

Becoming mostly sunny with southerly breezes easing and dying out in the
evening. About Taranaki morning cloud clears to mostly sunny weather, south to
southwest breezes for much of the day.

Wellington

Mostly sunny with brisk cool southerlies easing and dying out by
evening.
High: 16

Nelson

Sunny with light southwesterlies in the morning, afternoon northerly
breezes.

Marlborough

Sunny with southwesterlies dying out in the morning, light east to
northeast winds from afternoon.

Canterbury

Sunny with breezy cool southwesterlies, dying out in the evening.

A few remaining morning showers clear then sunny spells gradually increase.
