The Nelson City Council is asking residents to brace themselves for some rough weather. The Motueka Highway is blocked by a slip at McLeans Reserve, about 30 kilometres from Lower Motueka Valley

Between 10 and 20 homes are isolated at Tapawera. Roads are blocked at Tapawera Baton Road between Twin Bridges. Signs are in place to redirect traffic.

Civil Defence has been called out and the Emergency Operation Centre has been activated at Tasman District Council.
