A southwesterly airflow lies over the country on Thursday, expect a continuation of the weather we have had today however shower activity ramps up for the western North Island a touch Taranaki southwards. Overnight rain intensities increase for the West Coast of the South Island.
Areas of heavy rain for western regions on Friday, rain doesn’t pick up till afternoon for the western North Island at which point there could be a few thunderstorms start to move in. Once again mainly dry in the east apart from perhaps the odd spit spreading from the west. Southland and Otago will likely see some shower activity though.
