Rain or showers clear most western North Island areas early this morning, also Wellington. Rain which may be heavy first thing this morning along the east coast, gradually eases then clears later this evening or overnight.

The odd shower sneaks into the Coromandel, Great Barrier Island and Northland this afternoon and evening as southeasterly winds pick up in these areas.

In the South Island we have just the odd shower this morning gradually clearing away from Canterbury, Marlborough and the Nelson area.
