Rain clings on

Northern and central areas of the country are still feeling the impact of the rain this evening, after some heavy falls today.

Temperatures remain quite mild and the rain should gradually ease back to showers tonight or in the morning with some lengthy sunny spells. Winds are still expected to be punchy at times overnight.

The heaviest rain this evening has been in and around Whangarei.

Its 23.26pm and NW wind here in the mamaku Ranges very strong with tremendous gusts. Rain stopped but heavy shwrs at times. We are pretty exposed to NW winds so am bit concerned about sheeting iron on roof lifting off. Cheers to all travelers tonite.

This month is like a classic Winter month in Auckland, temperatures again dropping with a reasonably drier but windy flow next week with neither “here or there” weather in the north though it looks much better in the south.
