Poll Results: Some interest in creating new mid-winter stat holiday

Our latest poll has drummed up interest from about one third of our readers who would like to see the January 2nd stat holiday shifted to the middle of winter – to break the almost 5 month statutory holiday drought then.

But just over 70% said “no” to shifting that holiday.

The poll was designed to gauge interest in shifting a current stat holiday into the middle of winter – but as someone pointed out, our poll was flawed and should have included the option to create an entirely new holiday, one that is on top of the current Jan 2nd date. This might be more controversial for small business owners – but we’ll ask this question again in summer and make sure to include an additional option.
