Oz feels the heat!

WeatherWatch.co.nz

As we have basked in a pretty good January, spare a thought for our cousins across the ditch as a heatwave continues to roll on.

Temperatures in South Australia, Victora and the ACT have topped the 40s this week and today is a similar story.

43 degrees is the high in Melbourne today and it’s currently 39.8 degrees at 11am, after highs of 43.3 and 44.3 on Wednesday and yesterday. Last night the city dropped to 25 degrees but was 30 at midnight.

Adelaide was even hotter last night with 29.5 being the lowest point at 7 o’clock this morning but the previous night it was 33.9 degrees as an overnight low and it was a January record!

The South Australian city is currently 40.2 degrees and is expecting 42 this afternoon but highs of 43.2 on Tuesday, 45.7 on Wednesday and 43 yesterday have kept locals wondering if there’s any relief heading their way. At this stage it doesn’t appear there’s too much cooler air on the horizon, as temperatures of 38-40 are predicted over the next 7 days!

I have just come back from Adelaide and it was unbearable. Everyone was grumpy and there wasn’t enough room at the beaches. I like it here though.

Another point I’d like to make.

Is it possible not to have people write in all the time?I love the articles, stats and temperatures that your site provides but one or two people are just annoying with messaging in a lot and it becomes a bit of a bore.

Just thought you’d like to know anyway.

Keep up the brilliant work Richard and Philip.

Thanks a lot

Thanks for the positive feedback – it’s great to see so many enjoying our site.

And thanks for the comment re: Adelaide.  It must be insane in that heat right now – although I see it’s fair bit cooler in Melbourne today…currently around 27 degrees…almost jersey weather!!

Cheers
