Monday’s weather outlook

A slack pressure gradient lies over New Zealand on Monday with light winds, mainly settled weather can be expected.

North Island

Mostly sunny weather for the upper North Island on Monday, a chance of morning fog. Northland sees cloud build in the west from midday bringing a light shower or two, some cloud and the risk of a shower about northern Auckland by evening. Mostly sunny for the central and eastern lower North Island, some cloud from Taranaki down through to Wellington in the west, perhaps a shower or two also otherwise mainly dry.

South Island

A mostly cloudy day for the South Islands West Coast, the odd light shower about Fiordland then perhaps spreading northwards at times from afternoon. Morning cloud about Nelson and Marlborough may bring a shower then sun breaks through, cloud increases again in the afternoon for Nelson bringing the risk of a further shower. Southland through to Canterbury in the east sees some morning cloud then sun breaks through, cloud thickens again from evening.

High’s in the mid teens for much of the North Island, high single figures or low double figures for much of the South Island.
