A large high and a weak low are combining to bring some rain and wind to the upper North Island today.

It’s mild for this time of the year in the north.

Meanwhile the south remains under some high pressure. Clouds thicken in the north and east.

Southland and Otago should be some of the sunnier regions today.

Rain in the North Island heads east with some heavy falls likely today.
