Monday was a warm one for many

Monday has been a fairly warm day across much of New Zealand as mild, brisk, westerlies blew.

See the Daily Highs here at WeatherWatch first everyday between 4:15 and 4:45pm.

Napier and Hastings took the national high with 22 degrees…

Close behind was Gisborne on 20 and Alexandra, just two months ago struggling to reach above zero at midday, today hit 19 degrees.

Auckland, Whangarei and Kaitaia all reached 18.

Christchurch hit 17, along with Tauranga and Whakatane.

Oamaru was the coldest centre on 10 degrees today.  Wellington and Dunedin made it to 14.
