An east to southeast airflow lies over the North Island tonight bringing a few showers, mainly in the east and about Northland although a few make it further westwards for a time. Mainly dry over the South Island although rain moves into Fiordland later tonight, strong easterlies about the Canterbury coastline ease this evening.

Northland

Cloudy periods with gusty east to southeast winds easing overnight, showers clearing for most overnight although a few may remain in eastern coastal areas.

Tonight’s Lows: 9-11

Auckland

Cloudy areas with breezy southeasterlies, chance of a shower about
otherwise dry.

Tonight’s Lows: 9-10

Bay Of Plenty

Cloudy with east to southeasterly winds, chance of a shower about
especially overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 9-10

Waikato & Central North Island

Periods of cloud increasing with breezy southeasterly winds, chance of a
shower about especially overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 6-7

Eastern North Island

Mostly cloudy with east to southeasterly winds, fresh about Gisborne. There
may be a light shower or drizzle patch about, mainly Hawkes Bay
northwards.

Tonight’s Low: 9

Taranaki

Mainly clear skies with southeasterly breezes.

Tonight’s Low: 6

Western North Island

Mainly clear skies with breezy easterlies, easing a little this
evening.

Tonight’s Low: 6

Wellington

Clear skies with light easterlies.

Tonight’s Low: 5

Nelson

Clear skies with light winds.

Tonight’s Low: 2

Marlborough

Clear skies with easterlies easing this evening.

Tonight’s Low: 1

Canterbury

Clear skies with strong northeasterlies near the coast easing this evening.
Light winds inland nearer the foothills, northwesterlies may pick up a little
overnight about inland South Canterbury.

Tonight’s Low: 1

West Coast

Mainly clear skies, some cloud moves in overnight mainly about South
Westland. Rain pushes into Fiordland later tonight also.

Tonight’s Lows: 4-5

Coastal Otago

Mainly clear skies with northeasterlies easing this evening.

Tonight’s Low: 6

Central Otago

Mainly clear skies this evening, some overnight high cloud. West to
northwest winds build a little later on.

Tonight’s Low: 4

Southland

Increasing high cloud with northerly winds, a few showers possible
overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 8
