A ridge lies over New Zealand today bringing more mainly settled and hot weather.
Another scorcher today, especially for the east of the South Island. Apart from some cloud here and there as indicated on the graphic below conditions are mainly sunny. Northerlies get a little gusty through Cook Strait.
