An anticyclone brings mainly settled weather to New Zealand on Friday.

Some cloud for Auckland and Northland on Friday, mostly sunny elsewhere about the upper and western North Island. For the east coast cloudy areas develop in the morning with southerly winds, the odd light shower or drizzle patch from afternoon.

The South Island has a mainly sunny day, some morning cloud in the east breaks away, light winds tend onshore in the afternoon.
