Incoming rain not likely to be much

Those wanting a bit of rain for the garden or to top up the water tanks won’t get much relief from the incoming front later this week reports WeatherWatch.co.nz.

The front is likely to bring some patchy rain, or a brief period of rain on Thursday and Friday.  Heaviest rain is expected on the South Island’s West Coast.

However latest projections show very little will head north.  At this stage WeatherWatch.co.nz predicts just a 30% chance of rain for Northland, that number increases to 40% for Auckland on Thursday night and Friday morning and just 40% for Waikato.

Taranaki has a 60% chance.

Most in the east aren’t predicted to get much either.

Higher air pressure in the north is on the main reasons the front will weaken considerably before reaching the north.
