Christchurch headed the maximum temperatures today as a warm northerly pushed the mercury to 31 degrees. A number of other Canterbury centres also felt the warmth.
Mid to high 20s were reported throughout a number of towns and cities across both islands. Click on ‘Daily Highs’ to get the full rundown.
Tonight humidity levels are expected to remain fairly high over the upper North Island with temperatures once again hovering near the 20 degree mark.
Heavy showers basically failed to eventuate in a number of northern and western areas of the North island however parts of Northland had a few heavy showers this afternoon.

Kaitaia had 4mm at about 5 oclock this morning but nothing since.
