Friday’s News: Heavy rain for the West Coast – Warm temperatures today – Strong winds in the south

Here’s what is making the weather headlines today…..

HEAVY RAIN WEST COAST

A front brings rain to Fiordland this morning with heavy falls, the front moves north to reach Buller this evening. The front will weaken as it moves north so the heaviest falls will be in the south.

WARM IN THE EAST AND FOR THE NORTH ISLAND

Warm temperatures today for eastern regions of both Islands, much of the North Island has a good day too, especially just inland away from coastal spots where a sea breeze or onshore winds could temper temperatures down a touch.

High’s will likely be in the low to mid twenties for the above mentioned areas, meanwhile the West Coast has cooler temperatures in the mid teens thanks to cloudier skies and rain.

STRONG WINDS IN THE SOUTH
