Rain or showers easing across the North Island tonight, winds generally light, eventually tending westerly for most. Meanwhile a cool southerly change sweeps north over the South Island mainly affecting eastern regions bringing showers.

Northland

Clear spells with westerly winds, easing this evening.

Tonight’s Lows: 14-16

Auckland

Cloudy periods, a few isolated showers with the odd heavy fall, mostly clearing this evening although one or two showers could continue overnight.
Westerly winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 15-16

Bay Of Plenty

Periods of cloud, a few isolated showers possibly heavy (mainly in the west
of the district) clearing this evening. Light westerlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 15-16

Waikato & Central North Island

Rain about the Central North Island with heavy falls, easing during this
evening. Light winds. Isolated showers, possibly heavy about the Waikato clear
this evening.

Tonight’s Lows: 12-13

Eastern North Island

Showers, a period of rain this evening with heavy falls and thunderstorms
possible then easing by midnight. Light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 14-15

Western North Island

Showers with light southeasterlies tending westerly this evening. About
Taranaki expect cloudy areas with the odd shower, westerlies.

Wellington

Patchy rain or drizzle, easing overnight. Light winds.

Tonight’s Low: 14

Marlborough & Nelson

Remaining showers clear this evening, a few clear spells could develop
overnight however that does bring the risk of a fog patch or two by dawn. Light
winds.

Tonight’s Low: 12-14

Canterbury

Mostly cloudy skies, light easterlies. A few showers about North Canterbury
ease this evening. Overnight showers move into South Cantebrury with southerly
winds, showers move into Mid Canterbury around dawn.

West Coast

Cloudy periods with the odd shower, light southwesterlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 13-14

Coastal Otago

Cloudy with the odd shower from later this evening or overnight,
southwesterly winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-11

Central Otago

Cloudy with the odd shower, southerlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

Southland

Cloudy with southerly winds, showers develop overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 8-9
