Drought results in Canterbury collaboration

A positive to come out of this year’s drought in North Canterbury.

Stock agents and meat processors are rallying together to come up with a solution for farmers impacted by the prolonged dry spell.

Federated Farmers’ Dan Hodgen says it’s the first time the groups have worked together collaboratively.

Among the options raised are share farming, to retain farmers’ breeding flocks rather than being forced to sell them.
