Oh my . . . that was chilling. Whenever I watch footage from the Christchurch earthquake I can sense from the scene the state of peoples disbelief. Its like people are running and moving but they dont actually know at that moment what or where they are moving to or from. They are in autopilot – ‘fight or flight’ while their minds try to gather together the magnitude of what has just happened.
Hearing the baby in the crowd was distressing. Not being able to see if baby is O.K and is safe with mummy or daddy makes it hard take on.
