Strong winds are likely to build over some places today however it appears that not all of the country is in the firing line and we’d like to know how windy it is where you are today.
We’re hearing that Wellington is seeing gusts top 80kph and the Wairarapa might be seeing some decent winds as well.
Over the next few days strong and blustery winds are likely to affect parts of the country and some gusts could be potentially damaging later in the week in isolated and exposed places.
Please let us know what wind and overhead conditions are like at the moment which will give us all a better idea of what the current conditions are like and where these winds might be packing a punch.

Cloud/shower mix and extremely windy in Wellington – gusts apparently close to 130kph. I can imagine that once again we’re the windiest city in the country – and once again, not by a small margin…

Here in Mapua there’s a gentle westerly with light rain spreading off the hills and a few bright patches with warm sun. Occasional thunder over to the west as well. Something tells me Buller and Golden Bay are getting dumped on.

Here in Wellington it’s blowing a damned good Spring Nor’Wester, great stuff, just a wee drizzle now but I see good rain in the radar over Nelson region at present, maybe headed our way.
Love this weather, at least the air is clean here ha.
Cheers…oops the mouse has been blown from my grasp!
