For many regions this week will leaner wetter than it’s been for a while, with milder weather continuing on (for this time of year). As today’s heavy rain clears to showers, there may be some heavier downpours later today/tonight and a few remaining on Wednesday. Large dry areas return.
But later this week a large low pressure zone currently affecting the south-east quarter of Australia will drift our way, bringing a boost in nor’westers for many regions by Friday along with some heavy rain moving into the west and north of both islands, before easing this weekend to showers.
By Monday next week a southerly quarter wind flow should cover NZ with a drop in temperatures, but drier skies expected to move in to many places.
