This morning’s weather was certainly a warm way to start your day – and there’s more to come.

Warm northerlies saw most New Zealanders waking to one of the mildest mornings this winter.

At 6am Whangarei, Kaikohe and Gisborne were on 16 degrees.

It was 15 degrees in Whitianga, Tauranga, Whakatane, Napier, Hastings and Akaroa.

Auckland, Hamilton and Christchurch had 14.

Last night Kaikoura had 18 degrees at 10:30pm.
