A cold, wet change coming in the south on Friday

A westerly quarter airflow lies over the country on Friday, with conditions varied for east and west.

It’s looking sunny and clear for the most part in the east after morning cloud dissapates, while the west of both islands is looking decidedly gloomier – as cloud and drizzle give way to a clearer sort of afternoon.

A cold southwest change then moves in to Southland, bringing rain and snow for parts of the region – check out more specifics in our detailed forecast coming Friday morning, or take a look at Philip Duncan’s latest weather video, here.
