Wednesday’s weather outlook

A front moves northwards over the South Island this morning but it does weaken, meanwhile the North Island sits under a southwesterly airflow, tending southerly in the afternoon and evening for the lower North Island.

So for the South Island we have mainly cloudy skies in the east today with showers, gradually easing and mostly clearing by evening. Winds from the south. Along the West Coast we see some morning rain clearing then sunny areas develop into the afternoon.

For the North Island expect sunny areas, winds from the southwest. During the afternoon and evening cloud moves into the lower North Island then gradually spreads northwards along the east coast, this cloud brings the risk of a shower or two also, more so as cloud moves along the east coast.
