A westerly airflow lies over New Zealand today, some rain / shower activity in the west while conditions out east are sunnier / drier.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny spells, a shower or two at times. The Bay Of Plenty may not see a shower till afternoon. Eastern Northland could have a fairly dry day. West to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 14-16

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly cloud with a few showers, some rain spreads into Taranaki and the Central North Island in the evening. West to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 10-14

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, northwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-17

Wellington
Sunny areas and some high cloud, northwesterly winds.
High: 13

Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, Nelson may see some mid level cloud at times. Light west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 13-15

Canterbury
Mostly sunny with some high cloud possible, light northwesterly winds.
Highs: 12-14

West Coast
Showers, easing from afternoon and dry spells increasing, some sun may even break through especially for North Westland. Fiordland however sees rain, possibly becoming heavy from afternoon. Light winds from the westerly quarter.
Highs: 9-12

Southland & Otago
Some cloud for Southland, the odd shower possible about the coastal fringe otherwise mainly dry. Otago has sunny areas and some high cloud. Light northwesterly winds.
Highs: 8-13
