A front weakens as it moves northwards over the South Island on Wednesday while the North Island has mainly settled conditions and a ridge of high pressure.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Chance of a morning shower, party cloudy in the afternoon. Southwesterly winds, tending northerly in the afternoon about the Bay Of Plenty.
Highs: 23-25

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Some morning cloud then mostly sunny, light winds tend onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 22-25

Eastern North Island

Mainly sunny weather for all, although there may be some morning cloud about Gisborne. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 23-26

Wellington

Mainly sunny with breezy northerly winds.
Highs: 21-22

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with north to northwesterly winds, a late evening southerly brings some cloud.
High: 23-30

Canterbury

High cloud then some low cloud from developing about South Canterbury in the morning reaching North Canterbury during the afternoon as winds change to the south. There may be a spot of rain for inland areas, perhaps some drizzle about the hills of South and Mid Canterbury in the evening.
Highs: 22-29

West Coast

Patchy rain or showers, clearing late afternoon or evening as light northerlies change to the south.
Highs: 19-22

Southland & Otago

Morning rain or showers clear then becoming mostly sunny, breezy westerly winds.
Highs: 19-20
